Best Poppy Skins: All 13 Ranked, Including Firecracker

Astronaut turns Poppy's hammer into space equipment without losing her personality. We rank all 13 skins and explain the strongest alternatives.

    Riot Games

Poppy can wear a different outfit, but the hammer still takes up half the conversation. Give her a bell, a lollipop, or a piece of space equipment and the whole character changes with it. Astronaut Poppy is our pick for the best Poppy skin because it finds the best balance: a ridiculous new job for the weapon, a recognizable little adventurer, and a documented set of custom effects, sounds, and recall.

Star Guardian is the stronger choice if you want magical heroics. Hextech has our favorite specific recall idea, with the hammer becoming a helicopter. Neither loses because it is older or harder to collect; Astronaut simply keeps more of the humor we like in Poppy while giving her a different world to inhabit.

The ranking includes every non-default parent skin in Riot’s Poppy catalog, checked on September 5, 2026: 13 skins, including Firecracker. Chromas do not add entries. Our order weighs costume and weapon design, Riot’s documented cosmetic features, and the reason to choose one skin over another. It is an editorial ranking, not a claim about competitive advantages or firsthand playtesting.

    1. Astronaut Poppy makes the hammer part of the mission

Astronaut Poppy floating beside Gnar in white space suits, with her blue-lit hammer in the foreground
Poppy’s equipment looks ready for a mission; her expression suggests she might enjoy the complications. Artwork: Riot Games.

The suit works because Poppy still looks like Poppy inside it. Her ears have their own orange extensions on the helmet, her hair escapes through the top, and the huge hammer looks like machinery somebody has entrusted to a very small crew member. The shared splash with Gnar sells a cheerful space expedition rather than a grim military operation.

Riot KiWiKiD’s May 2020 development post confirms new models and textures, VFX, SFX, and a recall animation. Those changes matter here: a space suit paired with unchanged fantasy spell presentation would be a much narrower costume. The announcement lists a 1,350 RP price, which is historical PBE information rather than a verified offer in today’s client.

Astronaut wins on character fit. Poppy already approaches an improbable task with absolute commitment, so sending her into space feels like a natural extension of the joke. The industrial hammer also gives the design a useful counterweight to the friendly little aliens around her. It is cute without turning every object into a dessert or toy.

Choose it for a substantial change of setting that keeps the earnest adventurer. If you prefer Poppy to look like someone holding a sacred weapon, start with Star Guardian instead. Its more formal costume suits that version of the character better.

    2. Star Guardian Poppy has the best heroic costume

Star Guardian Poppy with blue twin-tails, a white and blue uniform, and a gold star hammer amid blue light
Blue hair, white armor, and repeated gold stars give Poppy a disciplined magical-soldier look. Artwork: Riot Games.

Star Guardian’s expression is important. Poppy looks fierce, not delighted to have joined a sparkly team. The gold stars and blue-and-white uniform could have made her another cheerful mascot; the scowl makes the costume feel like equipment she intends to use.

Riot LoveStrut’s September 2016 PBE description, preserved in contemporary coverage, presents her as a particularly combative Star Guardian and documents a new model, magical visual and sound effects, and animation changes. Its announced price was 1,350 RP. That source supports a broader magical treatment, but it should not be read as a promise that every ordinary movement has been replaced.

The hammer is our favorite part of this design. Its repeated star shapes connect it to the uniform without making it look delicate. That keeps Poppy’s role as the person who hits the problem unusually hard, even in a setting full of magic.

The formality costs it first place in our ranking; we like the humor in Astronaut’s oversized equipment. You may want the opposite. Star Guardian is the better fit for a bright fantasy skin with a stubborn character underneath the decoration.

    3. Hextech Poppy earns its place through invention

Hextech Poppy in brass-trimmed gear holding a blue energy sphere beside a large crystal-powered hammer
The blue crystals and mechanical headpiece make the hammer look like something Poppy could have built. Artwork: Riot Games.

Hextech changes Poppy from the keeper of a weapon into an inventor of machinery. The round lenses, dark work clothes, blue crystals, and engraved metal all support that change. It has the strongest connection between a more serious costume and an imaginative new use for the hammer.

The recall is the deciding detail. Nurse Flan’s 2018 PBE description explicitly says the hammer becomes a helicopter. The same developer post confirms new spell effects and sounds throughout the kit. That gives the technical-looking weapon a payoff beyond appearing expensive in the splash.

Hextech belongs this high because of those ideas, not its acquisition history. Riot originally announced it for Gemstones. That old currency reference is not a current buying instruction, and we have not verified a present shop listing or price. Check its exact acquisition route in the client before planning around it.

If you already own it, the helicopter recall is a better reason to equip it than the possibility that fewer people have it. If you do not, Astronaut and Star Guardian are the first alternatives to compare. You do not need to chase Hextech to get a coherent Poppy redesign.

A cafe, a sleigh, or a festival: the next four choices

    4. Cafe Cuties Poppy turns the weapon into the order

Cafe Cuties Poppy in a frilled cafe uniform swinging a teal cup hammer topped with bear-shaped foam
A bear-topped drink and a frilled uniform give Cafe Cuties a more elaborate food theme than Lollipoppy. Artwork: Riot Games.

Poppy is apparently dealing with a drink too large for anyone to carry politely. The hammer’s teal cup and smiling bear-shaped topping make the ordinary act of swinging it absurd. Copper-colored hair and a brown, cream, and teal uniform give the design more coordination than a random collection of sweets.

The October 2023 Cafe Cuties PBE post confirms changes to the model, spell visuals, sounds, and recall. It announced 1,350 RP.

Cafe Cuties is our strongest comedy alternative to Astronaut. It loses a little of Poppy’s adventure-story identity, but the oversized order gives her hammer a specific comic purpose. Choose it over Lollipoppy if you want the cafe theme and its documented effects package; choose Lollipoppy if a giant candy weapon is already the entire appeal.

    5. Snow Fawn Poppy makes the holiday theme worth considering

Snow Fawn Poppy wearing antlers and fur-trimmed red and green clothes, with a bell hammer and poros in the snow
The bell hammer and little antlered poros commit fully to the winter-delivery theme. Artwork: Riot Games.

Snow Fawn has more going on than antlers and a red nose. Riot LoveStrut’s preserved development description specifies a sleigh full of poros and presents in the animation treatment, snowy spell effects, presents appearing in the ultimate, and festive sounds. Those are concrete reasons to consider it even if you already own another cute Poppy skin.

The enormous bell works particularly well as a hammer substitute. Its shape still looks heavy enough to be a weapon, while the little bell at Poppy’s neck makes the costume feel like a matching set. She looks ready to take present delivery far too seriously.

The limitation is seasonal taste, not quality. This is unmistakably a winter-holiday costume every time you equip it. We prefer a more flexible setting for a first skin, but Snow Fawn is a strong addition if you enjoy seasonal designs outside their usual month. Its current availability is a separate client check.

    6. Bewitching Poppy has more mischief than menace

Bewitching Poppy wearing a purple witch hat and holding a glowing pumpkin bucket beside a large broom-like hammer
A huge hat, teal hair, and a crooked wooden weapon make Poppy look ready to lead the trick-or-treating. Artwork: Riot Games.

Bewitching works best when you read it as an enthusiastic trick-or-treater. The toothy smile and pumpkin bucket are friendlier than the huge purple hat first suggests. Turning the weapon into a heavy, crooked broom is also more interesting than covering a normal hammer in pumpkins.

Riot DW Platypus’s PBE thread documents a new model, effects, sounds, and recall. Its final update also records a corrected grunt timing in the recall.

We favor Snow Fawn’s more specific sleigh-and-delivery idea, but Bewitching is the easier recommendation if winter costumes leave you cold. The main sacrifice is how much of the visual identity belongs to the hat and witch outfit. You get a convincing little witch; you see less of the armored adventurer.

    7. Firecracker Poppy is festive without replacing the fighter

Firecracker Poppy with blue-green twin-tails and red festival clothing swinging a large decorated drum-shaped hammer
The red-and-gold weapon and flowing hair place Poppy in the middle of a fireworks celebration. Artwork: Riot Games.

Firecracker is included in the current roster, so a list ending at Cafe Cuties is missing a skin. Its January 2026 Riot announcement lists a custom model, VFX, SFX, and recall, with an announced price of 1,350 RP.

The decorated drum-like hammer is a good match for Poppy’s oversized swings. Red clothes, gold fittings, and blue-green hair make the outfit celebratory while leaving her face and expression unobstructed. Compared with Bewitching, the weapon gets more attention than a giant hat.

It lands seventh because the higher-ranked costumes give Poppy a more surprising role: astronaut, inventor, cafe worker, or determined present courier. Firecracker dresses the fighter for a celebration. That smaller conceptual jump can be preferable, especially if you like the joyful expression but do not want a drink or broom for a weapon. The newer release date is not, by itself, a reason to move it above those alternatives.

The older costumes still have a reason to exist

The following six choices earn their positions through the character and weapon designs shown here. They are not substitutes for the broader spell-effect and recall packages documented above. If one already appeals to you, compare its current in-game preview before deciding that the lower rank means you need something newer.

    8. Blacksmith Poppy gives the hammer an honest day’s work

Blacksmith Poppy in a metal helmet and work clothes holding a glowing orange hammer in a forge
The forge setting makes Poppy’s enormous hammer look like a tool before it looks like a weapon. Artwork: Riot Games.

Blacksmith is our favorite of the older costume concepts. A little character with an oversized hammer does not need an elaborate alternate universe to make sense at a forge. The helmet, work clothes, and stern look give her a job you can understand immediately.

It also offers a useful alternative to Hextech’s elaborate inventor. Blacksmith has less magical machinery and more soot-and-metal craftsmanship. Buy into that character, not the glow in the illustration: the splash’s hot metal does not establish fiery spell effects in the game.

    9. Lollipoppy understands the simplest possible joke

Lollipoppy with green twin-tails and a striped scarf swinging a giant rainbow lollipop through a candy landscape
The rainbow lollipop replaces the hammer without requiring any explanation. Artwork: Riot Games.

Lollipoppy is wonderfully literal. The huge rainbow candy, green hair, and striped scarf make the whole design easy to grasp in one look. It is more mischievous than Cafe Cuties, especially with those suspiciously cheerful faces on the background lollipops.

Cafe Cuties gets the higher position for its documented effects package and more developed outfit. Lollipoppy wins if you prefer the simpler candy joke. The rainbow weapon is enough to distinguish it, without making Poppy look as though she belongs to an entirely different profession.

    10. Ragdoll Poppy is the most convincing toy

Ragdoll Poppy with red yarn hair, a white apron, and striped stockings standing over a toy mallet among other toys
Yarn hair and stitched clothing change Poppy’s materials as well as her outfit. Artwork: Riot Games.

The yarn twin-tails do much of the work. They preserve Poppy’s familiar hairstyle while making it look handmade, and the apron, rosy cheeks, and striped stockings carry that toy-box idea through the rest of the design. The mallet belongs in the same world.

Ragdoll softens the fighter more completely than Lollipoppy does, which puts it just below the candy skin for us. Choose it for the storybook-toy character, particularly if rainbow colors are too much. The handmade details provide plenty to enjoy without armor or a dramatic new setting.

    11. Battle Regalia Poppy keeps the knight fantasy intact

Battle Regalia Poppy wearing gold-trimmed armor and a tall winged helmet beside her hammer on a battlefield
Battle Regalia dresses the familiar hammer wielder as a fully equipped fantasy knight. Artwork: Riot Games.

Battle Regalia is the safest visual choice for someone who likes Poppy’s ordinary theme. The tall helmet, gold trim, and long hair make her look more formally equipped, but the basic idea remains a small warrior carrying a very large weapon.

We rank it above the two darker armored designs because her face remains part of the attraction. It is a restrained change compared with Astronaut or Cafe Cuties, which limits its appeal as a dramatic first purchase. For a player who actively dislikes those transformations, restraint is exactly the reason to choose it.

    12. Noxus Poppy trades reassurance for hostility

Noxus Poppy with dark hair, red eyes, and black armor swinging a heavy black-and-red hammer
Dark plate and red eyes give Noxus Poppy a much harsher expression than her default design. Artwork: Riot Games.

Noxus Poppy is the clearest choice for a darker version of the character. Black armor, red eyes, and the heavy angular hammer make her look confrontational before she does anything. The costume changes her attitude more than Battle Regalia does.

Our objection is personal: Poppy’s warmth helps make her stubbornness appealing, and this version gives up a lot of it. If you want a menacing knight, that same change is a success. It is a better thematic choice than picking a cute skin simply because it sits higher on someone else’s list.

    13. Scarlet Hammer Poppy hides too much of Poppy

Scarlet Hammer Poppy in red and gold plate armor with a covered lower face, swinging her hammer at monsters
The red armor and face covering make Scarlet Hammer the most enclosed of these knightly designs. Artwork: Riot Games.

Scarlet Hammer has a clear attraction: red plate armor and the look of a little warrior who has dressed for a much bigger fight. The helmet and covered face make the outfit feel more protective than decorative.

It finishes last because the armor gets between us and the character. Battle Regalia keeps a more visible expression, while Noxus uses its exposed face to communicate menace. Scarlet Hammer is a good answer to "Poppy, but enclosed in red armor." We prefer the skins that give her a more specific personality alongside the new equipment.

Check the skin, not just the hammer in the splash

Before spending RP or another currency, verify the exact skin in your client. The prices cited here come from dated Riot announcements; they do not establish current availability, discounts, bundles, or the acquisition route for Hextech. A chroma listing is also not the same purchase as the underlying skin.

Then watch the moments that repeat. Poppy’s Iron Ambassador passive uses a thrown buckler that can become a shield when she picks it up. Compare that presentation alongside Hammer Shock and both a quick and charged Keeper’s Verdict. Listen to the effects, and watch the recall once before deciding. A spectacular hammer illustration is a good reason to open the preview; the everyday spell presentation is the reason to keep using the skin.
