7 Best Taric Skins, Ranked: Pool Party Takes First

Pool Party wins by turning Taric's protector role into a lifeguard joke. Luminshield is the best serious alternative in a ranking of all seven skins.

A lifeguard and an armored healer promise very different versions of Taric. Pool Party takes first place among the best Taric skins because the beach joke fits his job so well: he still wants to save everyone, but now the costume and water-themed cosmetics make him look ready to pull someone out of a swimming pool.

Taric Luminshield is the best alternative if you want a fantasy hero. Space Groove is the choice for disco color and documented musical touches in his spell audio. Fatebreaker adds another serious option, but its newer release does not make the older themes less appealing.

This is an editorial ranking of character design and documented cosmetic features, not a claim of hands-on testing or improved gameplay. All seven non-default skins in Riot’s current Taric gallery are included. Chromas are not separate ranked entries. The roster and current kit were checked September 5, 2026, during patch 26.17.

The Taric skin ranking at a glance

2Taric LuminshieldArmored healer fantasy and a literal luminous shield motifLess of a departure from Taric’s existing role
3Space Groove TaricDisco styling and musical spell treatmentPink hair and cartoon companions are a big tonal shift
4Fatebreaker TaricIridescent glass, gold trim, and flowing fabricCompetes closely with Luminshield for the serious slot
5Armor of the Fifth Age TaricPink gems and extravagant costume humorThe outfit is the main attraction
6Bloodstone TaricDark armor and hostile red gemstone imageryA grim appearance for a friendly protector
7Emerald TaricA green woodland interpretation of the Gem KnightA subtler change than the leading choices

Taric’s Bastion makes a cosmetic worth checking on two champions. His spells also cast from the linked ally, so a preview that only shows Taric alone misses part of what you will see in fights. Look at the ally shield, paired Dazzle casts, and Cosmic Radiance together. The effects may change the theme; they do not make the ally easier to protect mechanically.

    When the costume is enough

    7. Emerald Taric suits a quieter woodland look

Emerald uses green gems, leaflike armor, and a forest setting. Artwork: Riot Games.

Emerald has a gentler mood than most of Taric’s wardrobe. The blond hair and green headpiece give him an elven appearance, while the armor follows the same leafy shapes as the forest around him. It is a coherent version of the Gem Knight rather than a costume built around a punchline.

Seventh place reflects the size of the change, not a broken idea. A green crystal guardian stays close to a champion who is already a crystal guardian. If you want a forest palette, that restraint is useful. If you want the purchase to make Taric feel like a different character, the lifeguard and disco designs have more to offer.

The gallery confirms the skin exists, not that it is currently for sale in your region. Check its client listing before treating it as an immediately available alternative.

    6. Bloodstone is the choice for a darker Taric

Bloodstone Taric in dark armor with red eyes and glowing crimson crystals
Bloodstone’s red eyes and chest gem turn Taric’s familiar jewelry into something threatening. Artwork: Riot Games.

Bloodstone changes the meaning of the gems. Black armor and crimson light make them look dangerous, especially beside Taric’s pale face and red eyes. The sharp shoulders are a useful contrast to Emerald’s softer, leaflike armor.

Choose it for that contradiction: the champion protecting an ally looks as though he might be the villain. It is a more distinct alternate mood than Emerald, but it loses the warmth that makes Luminshield and Pool Party feel so suited to him.

For a second skin, the decision is straightforward. Bloodstone gives a Pool Party owner a serious, dark option. Someone who already prefers grim fantasy may find it more appealing than any of the higher-ranked costumes.

    5. Armor of the Fifth Age commits to the pink outfit

Armor of the Fifth Age Taric posing in purple clothing with pink fur trim and large pink gems
Pink fur and oversized gems make subtlety an unlikely goal. Artwork: Riot Games.

Armor of the Fifth Age understands that Taric can carry an absurd outfit with a straight face. The open purple vest, pink fur, and huge gems are lavish without needing a new profession or alternate world to explain them.

Its closest competitor is Space Groove. Fifth Age keeps the long-haired, armored Taric silhouette and makes the clothes outrageous. Space Groove changes the styling more heavily, with short pink hair and little space companions. Choose Fifth Age if you want the familiar Taric dressed for attention; choose Space Groove if the disco setting and musical effects are part of the appeal.

This is an outfit recommendation. Do not read its position as a promise of a fully rebuilt animation or sound package.

    4. Fatebreaker balances ornate armor with softer clothing

Fatebreaker Taric in purple and white clothing with gold armor and iridescent glass weapons
The curved weapon and floating glass catch several colors, while the clothing stays mostly purple and white. Artwork: Riot Games.

Fatebreaker gives Taric a different kind of grandeur. Gold shoulder pieces and iridescent glass sit above loose fabric and a thick purple waist cord. The outfit looks less like a knight’s suit of armor than Luminshield, yet it keeps the gemstones central to the design.

Riot’s Fatebreaker development announcement lists a custom model and textures, visual effects, sound effects, and recall. It is a broader cosmetic treatment than a new splash or recolored outfit. Riot’s patch 25.08 notes place its release on April 16, 2025.

The purchase problem is its neighbor. Luminshield already provides an elaborate, gem-covered fantasy hero, and we prefer the more direct armored-healer idea. Fatebreaker is the better choice if the flowing clothes and glass shapes appeal to you more than plate armor. An existing Luminshield owner should compare those details before buying another skin for much the same mood.

    3. Space Groove puts music into Taric’s routine

Space Groove Taric with short pink hair, a metallic disco outfit, and orange catlike companions
Space Groove exchanges loose crystals for a scene full of little orange companions and rounded machinery. Artwork: Riot Games.

Space Groove’s short pink hair is a bigger change than it first sounds. Most of these skins keep Taric’s long hair as part of his imposing shape. Here, the high collar and rounded shoulders frame a much more playful character, with orange catlike creatures sharing the scene.

The sound work gives this theme a reason to exist beyond the outfit. In the Riot DW Platypus development thread, Riot documented additional melodic accents for Q and a stronger E impact sound during development. The same post lists custom effects, sounds, and recall.

That makes Space Groove worth investigating if you care about the spells you repeat between big ultimate moments. Taric uses Starlight’s Touch through his spell-and-attack rhythm; a musical treatment has more opportunities to register than a recall animation does. Whether you enjoy hearing it repeatedly is a matter of taste, so listen to that sequence as well as the ultimate.

It stays behind Luminshield and Pool Party because its space-disco idea is less specific to Taric. Both higher picks reinterpret his protector role directly. Move Space Groove above them if music and cartoon company are what you want from a skin.

    2. Taric Luminshield makes the healer look ready to tank

Taric Luminshield raising a mug in the center of a tavern scene with Talon Blackwood and Twitch Shadowfoot
Taric is the armored figure in the center, sharing a tavern table with Talon and Twitch. Artwork: Riot Games.

Luminshield is the easiest serious recommendation. Broad silver armor, blond hair, and pale gemstones make Taric look like the party member expected to stand in front and keep everyone alive. The shared tavern splash makes the role explicit without turning him into an anonymous soldier. He is the cheerful armored companion between two rogues.

The shield motif also reaches his kit. Riot VFX artist Beardilocks documented adding a luminous shield to W during development, in a March 6, 2020 post preserved by Surrender at 20. That is a particularly appropriate detail for Bastion: the cosmetic puts a shield image on the ability that shields Taric’s ally.

It gives Luminshield a stronger theme-to-spell connection than a palette swap alone. The skin does not need to invent an unrelated occupation; it makes the armored healer role more literal. That is also its limit. Someone bored with serious Taric may prefer a skin that changes the mood more decisively.

Riot KiWiKiD’s preserved PBE announcement listed Luminshield at 1,350 RP. Treat that as historical price context and check the current client offer. If a friend wants the same adventure-party theme, the shared illustration’s Twitch Shadowfoot option is a natural cosmetic pairing, regardless of your bot-lane strategy.

    1. Pool Party Taric makes the best use of the joke

Pool Party Taric running in red swim trunks with a whistle and lifeguard jacket
The whistle, rescue equipment, and flying jacket make Taric look urgently committed to a very glamorous rescue. Artwork: Riot Games.

Pool Party turns Taric into a lifeguard, which is a better joke than merely putting a muscular champion in swim trunks. Protection is still the point. The whistle and rescue equipment give the costume a job, and the dramatic running pose keeps his self-assured personality intact.

Riot KateyKhaos’s original development description, preserved in contemporary PBE coverage, specifies water effects with matching splash sounds. It also describes a sunglasses-wearing sun in his ultimate and a recall in which Taric removes his jacket and jumps into a pool. These details take the theme into the abilities and the quiet moments between fights.

The ultimate is the best part of that concept. Cosmic Radiance is already a conspicuous promise to protect nearby allies after a delay. A cheerful sun wearing sunglasses makes that promise ridiculous in a way that belongs to this costume. Pool Party retains enough of Taric’s character that the humor feels affectionate rather than random.

The same Riot announcement listed 1,350 RP, matching Luminshield’s announced price. Neither archived figure guarantees the price or sale available to your account today. When the current cost is close, choose between the two on tone: Luminshield for the heroic healer, Pool Party for someone taking a beach rescue much too seriously.

For a matching visual theme, Pool Party Caitlyn belongs to the same beach wardrobe. You do not need a coordinated duo to make Taric’s costume work, though. If the lifeguard joke still makes you smile after the sun and swimming recall, this is the one to choose.
