14 Best Amumu Skins, Ranked: Porcelain Takes First

Porcelain turns Amumu into a wonderfully miserable teapot. Surprise Party wins on tragic comedy, while Infernal is the strongest change of mood.

Amumu sitting on a stone ledge in the desert with blue magic floating around his hand
    Riot Games

Porcelain is our best Amumu skin because the transformation never loses his expression. His enormous, miserable head becomes a teapot, his body becomes decorated ceramic, and he somehow looks just as worried about being left alone. Riot also gave the skin new effects, sounds, and a recall, so the idea is more than a funny loading-screen portrait.

Surprise Party comes second for making Amumu’s loneliness the center of a very cruel joke. Infernal is our pick if you want fire rather than cuteness, while Dumpling Darlings offers the newest variation on the animated-object idea. All 14 non-default skins in Riot’s current Amumu gallery are ranked below, including the older costumes that rarely lead a buying shortlist.

The roster was checked against Data Dragon 16.17.1 on September 5, 2026. Chromas are excluded from the count. This is a subjective ranking of character design and documented cosmetic features, not a claim of personal playtesting, better hitboxes, or faster attacks. RP figures below are historical announcement prices; check the current client for your actual offer.

    The complete Amumu skin ranking

SkinBest reason to choose itWhy it might not be yours
    1. Porcelain AmumuAn expressive blue-and-white teapot with a full themed effects packageDelicate tableware is a major departure from a mummy
    2. Surprise Party AmumuThe funniest use of his perpetual exclusionThe joke is deliberately mean to its own character
    3. Infernal AmumuBurning effects and sizzling audio for a fiery little monsterYou trade much of the vulnerable mood for spectacle
    4. Dumpling Darlings AmumuA bamboo-steamer head packed with foodOverlaps with Porcelain’s appeal as a living object
    5. Pumpkin Prince AmumuA sad jack-o’-lantern in purple fineryThe Halloween theme and Legacy classification narrow the purchase
    6. Sad Robot AmumuWorn metal and a machine that seems capable of heartbreakLess ornate than Hextech
    7. Hextech AmumuPolished mechanical styling and glowing blue detailIts Mythic acquisition route needs a separate check
    8. Heartache AmumuHorns, headphones, and conspicuous teenage heartbreakBusy styling beside the simpler Emumu
    9. EmumuA direct emo-band costume jokeThe outfit matters more than a sweeping transformation
    10. Little Knight AmumuAn oversized helmet on a deeply unprepared heroA costume choice rather than our first effects recommendation
    11. Re-Gifted AmumuThe saddest possible interpretation of a presentSeasonal styling and a very simple central gag
    12. Almost-Prom King AmumuFormalwear built around an almost-victoryLess distinctive than Heartache or Emumu
    13. Pharaoh AmumuRoyal decoration for the familiar mummyStays close to his existing identity
    14. Vancouver AmumuMulticolored wrappings and Winter Games historyLittle reason to choose it without liking that specific look

Amumu’s cosmetics have to work between the big engages, too. Despair and Tantrum repeatedly surround him with effects while he fights nearby enemies. Compare those with Bandage Toss before judging a skin solely by Curse of the Sad Mummy. New particles are not the same thing as a completely rebuilt set of character animations.

    1. Porcelain Amumu is the best all-around choice

Porcelain Amumu with a blue-and-white teapot head and ceramic body surrounded by glowing blue ribbons
The decoration becomes the face: painted eyes, a downturned mouth, and a teapot spout. Artwork: Riot Games.

Porcelain makes a teapot look unmistakably like Amumu. The lid and handle give the oversized head a new shape, while the blue decoration supplies the same downcast eyes and mouth. The little ceramic body keeps the proportions fragile and awkward. Nothing about him looks ready to lead an engage, which is a good joke for this champion.

Riot Ehrgeizsu’s development post confirms new models, textures, visual effects, sound effects, and recall. A later update in that same post specifically records extra particles being added to W. That makes Despair worth including in the comparison, not just the ultimate reveal at the end of a preview.

The reason it beats Dumpling Darlings is the face. Porcelain’s whole design works around turning decorative pottery into an expression. Dumpling Darlings puts more emphasis on what is sitting inside the container. Both are charming; Porcelain is the more focused reinterpretation of the champion for us.

Choose it as a first skin if you want a large change without losing Amumu’s personality. If you want him to look threatening, skip the tableware entirely and go to Infernal.

    2. Surprise Party Amumu has the strongest joke

Surprise Party Amumu outside the window at upper right while Nasus, Soraka, Nami, and Udyr pose at a party inside
Amumu is the small figure outside the window, not one of the guests in the foreground. Artwork: Riot Games.

The shared splash is almost an anti-advertisement for its own star. Everyone else gets to be in the party photograph. Amumu is outside, looking through the window with his cake-like head and balloon. You have to search for him, which makes the exclusion land harder than a straightforward portrait would.

Riot developer Galetta’s original announcement, preserved by Surrender at 20, confirms that the others forgot to invite him. It also lists a new model, particles, sound effects, and recall, with an announced price of 1,350 RP.

Surprise Party gets second because it gives the character a situation as well as a costume. Amumu has not become a party host with a happy new life. He has dressed for a celebration that is happening without him.

If that joke makes you feel worse instead of making you laugh, Porcelain is the kinder recommendation. If Amumu’s tragic comedy is why you like him, move Surprise Party to first. It is more specific to his character than simply being cute or expensive.

    3. Infernal Amumu is the best change of mood

Infernal Amumu with a blazing orange head, dark metal body, and a fiery chain weapon
Flame replaces bandages, and the little figure looks ready to cause trouble. Artwork: Riot Games.

Infernal turns a dangerous hug into a much easier concept to understand: do not get close to the creature made of fire. The bright, flowing head and dark metal body give him a more energetic appearance than the hunched little mummy. It is one of the few designs here that makes his combat role seem less surprising.

The theme extends into the audio. Riot LoveStrut’s preserved PBE description specifies fire and smoldering particles, sizzling sound effects, and a recall built around his difficulty making friends while burning. The same original post announced 1,350 RP.

That sound direction is a good reason to compare Infernal with the two leaders. A burning treatment gives Amumu’s repeated spell casts a different mood from a party costume or ceramic toy. It also preserves a version of his loneliness: the fire makes friendship impractical.

Third place reflects our preference for vulnerable Amumu, not a flaw in the fiery idea. If you already own a cute skin, Infernal offers more contrast than another doll, pot, or festival costume. Players who like the same fire-and-dark-metal contrast on a larger character can also compare Brand’s skin choices.

    4. Dumpling Darlings Amumu is the food-lover’s alternative

Dumpling Darlings Amumu seated at a table with a large dumpling on his bamboo-steamer head
The steamer replaces his head, with a large dumpling where a hat might have been. Artwork: Riot Games.

Dumpling Darlings understands the advantage of Amumu’s proportions. The huge head becomes a bamboo steamer, with the seams of the basket supplying an unhappy little face beneath the food. His small body, formal clothes, and place at the table complete the joke. He looks like part of the meal service who has developed feelings about it.

The Riot cosmetics team’s PBE post documents custom models, textures, VFX, SFX, and recall, and announced 1,350 RP. Riot’s 2025.S1.3 patch notes confirm the skin was released in that patch. It is the newest entry in the roster checked for this guide.

We prefer Porcelain’s expressive decoration, but Dumpling Darlings is the better purchase if the food is the attraction. Someone who already owns Porcelain should compare the two directly: this is another adorable household object, not a radically different emotional take like Infernal. Newer does not automatically mean more useful to your collection.

    5. Pumpkin Prince Amumu makes Halloween look lonely

Pumpkin Prince Amumu with a glowing green jack-o'-lantern face and purple clothing sitting on a seesaw
The pumpkin head still looks miserable, even with a leaf bow and a fine purple outfit. Artwork: Riot Games.

Pumpkin Prince is Halloween decoration with a social problem. The carved head, green glow, purple clothing, and curled stem make a complete little character, while the seesaw scene keeps the usual loneliness intact. He is spooky in the way a children’s story can be spooky, not in the way Infernal is threatening.

Riot’s 6armedrobot development thread lists new model work, visual effects, sound effects, and recall, with an announced 1,350 RP price. It belongs on the shortlist for someone who wants both a Halloween costume and themed spell presentation. As a first skin, it makes most sense if you would enjoy the pumpkin in February as much as October.

The practical catch is its Legacy classification in Riot’s skin-availability guide. Legacy does not mean permanently unobtainable, but it does mean you should not assume an ordinary year-round shop listing. Check the current client offer rather than planning around an unverified Halloween return date.

The robot decision: worn metal or polished Hextech?

    6. Sad Robot Amumu makes the simplest machine the saddest

Sad Robot Amumu with a glass-domed head, metal limbs, and a winding key walking through an orange-lit workshop
The dented face and winding key make this a small, vulnerable machine rather than a battle robot. Artwork: Riot Games.

Sad Robot needs very little decoration. Metal feet, a winding key, and a glass dome are enough to change what Amumu is made of. The worried eyes remain the important part. Beside Hextech, the worn construction makes the character easier to pity.

Do not dismiss its spell presentation solely because the design is older. In his 2019 VFX update announcement preserved on Reddit, Riot Sirhaian specifically documented new spell effects across Sad Robot’s kit. The same discussion distinguishes VFX work from changing the character’s animation. This was not a promise that the model had become a modern, fully rebuilt champion.

Sad Robot wins the mechanical comparison for us because the plainness serves the character. Hextech looks more precious; this one looks more likely to be left in a workshop and forgotten. Choose it if you want that particular sadness, not merely because a guide calls an old skin a classic.

    7. Hextech Amumu is the polished collector’s option

Hextech Amumu as a bronze and blue mechanical toy with glowing eyes and segmented limbs
Bronze plates and luminous blue shapes make Hextech look more ornate than Sad Robot. Artwork: Riot Games.

Hextech dresses the machine in decorative metalwork and bright blue light. The curled shapes around the head and eyes give it the look of an expensive toy rather than an improvised robot. It is an attractive design, but the polished finish loses some of Sad Robot’s vulnerability.

Riot developer 6armedrobot’s preserved launch-development description confirms a new model, spell VFX, SFX, and recall. Compare that presentation with Sad Robot’s later effects refresh before assuming the more ornate machine is the better purchase.

Old advice to buy it for ten Gemstones is obsolete. Riot’s Mythic content overhaul replaced that currency with Mythic Essence and explicitly included Hextech Amumu in the rotating shop system. Check the current Mythic Shop for its presence and listed cost; this guide does not verify today’s rotation or promise a return date.

If obtaining it would require extra spending or waiting, make sure the bronze-and-blue robot is actually your favorite. None of the skins above it needs to be less appealing just because Hextech has a more restrictive acquisition route.

Three costumes that preserve the familiar misery

    8. Heartache Amumu goes big on teenage heartbreak

Heartache Amumu with purple hair, red horns, large headphones, and heavy boots holding a small wrapped gift
Horns, headphones, and broken-heart imagery make the rejection impossible to miss. Artwork: Riot Games.

Heartache has much more going on than Emumu: swept purple hair, large headphones, red horns, imposing boots, and a little gift held between his hands. The contrast between that tough outfit and the wounded expression is the strongest part.

It ranks higher than Emumu for readers who want the outfit itself to become an event. Our reservation is how insistently it explains the same joke. Emumu can convey its mood with a fringe and a microphone; Heartache surrounds it with hearts, spikes, and accessories. Choose the excess if that is your taste. An Emumu owner may prefer to spend on a different mood instead of another unhappy teenager.

    9. Emumu keeps the band joke direct

Emumu with black and purple hair singing at a microphone beside ghostly bandmates
The fringe, wristbands, and microphone turn the Sad Mummy into an unhappy frontman. Artwork: Riot Games.

Emumu does not need a new material or magical world. The long fringe covering one eye, dark wrappings, and band setting are enough. A champion whose abilities include Despair and Tantrum already has suitable song titles.

It is the better choice than Heartache if you like the older, simpler emo-band joke. It is also the one to skip if that reference means nothing to you. The costume has to be the attraction; this ranking does not promise it the breadth of changes documented for the top effects-focused picks.

    10. Little Knight Amumu looks ready for the wrong adventure

Little Knight Amumu in an oversized metal helmet with a red plume beside a broken sword and stone monument
The enormous helmet and broken sword make the aspiring hero look badly out of his depth. Artwork: Riot Games.

Little Knight is a good costume for a champion who can start a fight with much larger enemies. The helmet dominates his shape, leaving a slit for his eyes and very little of the mummy visible. The red plume adds just enough ceremony to make the situation sadder.

We like it more than the formalwear and royal costume below because the oversized armor changes the silhouette so decisively. It does not need an elaborate alternate universe. If the tiny armored adventurer is the image you want, this can be a satisfying pick without competing with Porcelain on its effects package.

The older alternatives: buy for the specific costume

    11. Re-Gifted Amumu is an excellent name with a simple outfit

Re-Gifted Amumu with a red present-shaped head and yellow ribbon sitting among gifts beside a Christmas tree
He is the present that has already been passed along. Artwork: Riot Games.

Re-Gifted turns his head into a red box with a yellow ribbon, leaving the green mummy body underneath. The joke is almost entirely in the name and shape, and that restraint works. It is hard to think of a worse social outcome for Amumu than becoming an unwanted gift.

Choose it for holiday humor, not as an automatic upgrade from an effects-rich skin you already own. Riot classifies it as a Snowdown Legacy skin, so current availability needs checking.

    12. Almost-Prom King Amumu makes the loss personal

Almost-Prom King Amumu in a dark suit and bow tie holding a wilted-looking rose while a couple stands on a stage behind him
The formalwear and rose tell you how carefully he prepared for a night that went badly. Artwork: Riot Games.

The combed brown hair, bow tie, and suit make Almost-Prom King more recognizable as a school-dance costume than Heartache’s elaborate outfit. The disappointment is specific: he was nearly the person everyone celebrated.

It loses ground because Emumu and Heartache give the same general mood a stronger visual identity. Keep it on the shortlist if the prom joke is personal to you. Riot lists it among retired Legacy skins; that is not a promise of a regular shop offer or a permanent ban on its return.

    13. Pharaoh Amumu keeps the mummy regal

Pharaoh Amumu wearing a gold headdress and decorated royal clothing in a torchlit tomb
Gold ornament makes him royal without removing the familiar green bandages. Artwork: Riot Games.

Pharaoh is the least surprising transformation: a mummy wearing a gold headdress and royal jewelry. That can be its appeal if you want to stay close to Amumu’s original identity. The oversized headdress also frames his unhappy face neatly.

For a first purchase, though, we prefer a theme that changes more of the character’s mood or shape. Pharaoh is another retired Legacy entry in Riot’s guide, so check whether the exact skin has an offer before treating it as your immediate fallback.

    14. Vancouver Amumu is for the palette and its history

Vancouver Amumu with multicolored bandages and bright pink eyes inside a glowing blue circle
Different colors across the wrappings are Vancouver’s distinguishing costume feature. Artwork: Riot Games.

Vancouver keeps the bandaged mummy and spreads color across him: green around the head, blue on the upper body, and contrasting colors on the legs. It is a much smaller change in concept than turning him into pottery, fire, or a robot.

The historical connection may matter more than that modest redesign. Riot’s Legacy guide places it in the 2010 Winter Games group and explicitly distinguishes that group’s former Limited status from its current Legacy classification. It should not be described as permanently unobtainable.

Last place means it is our least compelling general recommendation, not that its history has no value. If the colors or Winter Games connection are the reason you want it, check the client for a legitimate acquisition option.
