Arcane Brawler Vi is our best Vi skin overall because its documented package includes custom animations and voiceover alongside the model, effects, and recall. PROJECT: Vi is the first alternative for a cyberpunk makeover, while Primal Ambush is the pick for a more elaborate fantasy design.
The older Arcane Undercity Vi is a separate skin, not a cheaper color option for Brawler. That distinction matters more than the rank numbers: buying a look inspired by Arcane does not automatically give you Brawler’s animation and voice package. The seven choices below cover different reasons to want a Vi skin.
Reviewed September 5, 2026 against Riot’s current Data Dragon 16.17.1 roster, official skin announcements, and Riot’s PBE development threads. The ranking weighs theme, visual design, and documented cosmetic features. It makes no claim that a skin changes Vi’s damage, range, cooldowns, or your ability to land a combo.
The best Vi skins at a glance
These placements are editorial taste. If you dislike Arcane Brawler’s appearance, additional animations will not make it your favorite. Pick the theme you want to keep seeing, then compare what the skin actually changes.
1. Arcane Brawler Vi: the most substantial package here

Arcane Brawler takes first place because there is more to evaluate than the outfit. Riot’s November 2024 PBE thread lists a custom model, textures, animations, recall, visual effects, sound effects, and voiceover. That is the clearest documented break from Vi’s usual presentation among these picks.
One smaller detail shows how far that treatment extends: Riot explained that the death animation’s fixed facing direction was intentional, as a reference to an Arcane Season 1 scene. The connection reaches beyond putting a familiar jacket on the default model.
The design itself is restrained compared with PROJECT or Primal Ambush. The official art gives Vi a dark jacket, cropped hair with a red streak, and blue light concentrated around the gauntlet. The attraction is a recognizable character treatment. It does not need an entirely different creature or profession to justify itself.
That is also the best reason to choose something else. A player who buys skins to move as far away from ordinary Vi as possible may get more satisfaction from a science-fiction suit or ornate fantasy gauntlets. Brawler changes more of the presentation while staying close to Vi’s existing identity.
Riot also recorded a pre-release adjustment to its textures and colors in that PBE thread. Use a finished skin preview when deciding, rather than treating an early development clip as the final appearance. The thread’s announced price was 1,820 RP in November 2024; that is a historical reference, not a verified current offer in your client.
2. PROJECT: Vi: the best alternative for a different fantasy

PROJECT gives Vi a more complete change of setting. The dark armor, bright visor, and orange gauntlets belong together. The large fists remain the focus, with the rest of the suit supporting them rather than competing through a second decorative theme.
The palette is a good reason to prefer it over Arcane Brawler. Brawler’s blue energy sits against a mostly dark outfit; PROJECT puts warm orange light across a harder, more mechanical design. If futuristic armor is what you want from a Vi skin, this is the most direct recommendation on the list.
The cosmetic effects carry that setting into the match. Riot Time Wizard’s archived PBE announcement describes amber visual effects and technological impact sounds. Its recall has Vi checking police reports for information about Jhin. Those details give the enforcer theme something to do beyond decorating the loading screen.
Riot’s original PROJECT: Hunters page listed Vi at 1,350 RP during the 2017 release. The appeal is the consistent cyberpunk treatment across the outfit, effects, and recall. Choose Brawler instead when custom voiceover and broader animation changes matter more than the alternate setting.
3. Primal Ambush Vi: make the gauntlets the centerpiece

Primal Ambush earns its place by giving Vi’s fists a more sculpted, ornamental treatment. The gold shapes and teal details in the official artwork make the gauntlets look closer to fantasy relics than industrial equipment. Her dark outfit keeps those shapes prominent.
This is a fuller cosmetic treatment than an outfit comparison alone suggests. Riot’s January 2024 skin thread confirms custom models and textures, visual effects, sound effects, and a recall animation. It was announced as an Epic skin at 1,350 RP during that PBE cycle.
The reason it sits below PROJECT is a matter of taste: the extra decoration is appealing when you want an ornate design, but less appealing when you want a simpler armor silhouette. Primal Ambush has more small shapes asking for attention around the arms and shoulders. That observation concerns the design, not a measured readability advantage for another skin.
Choose it when the gauntlets are the main reason you enjoy Vi’s appearance. Before buying, watch the actual abilities and recall; the flaming shapes surrounding her hands in the splash are an illustration, not a promise that every punch reproduces that exact image.
4. T1 Vi: a Worlds skin that still has a full cosmetic treatment

T1 Vi is the obvious choice if that championship connection is part of the appeal. Riot’s Patch 25.18 notes identify the set as a celebration of T1’s 2024 World Championship and give its release as September 10, 2025. The celebration year and the release year are different.
The shared splash places Vi on the right in dark armor, white hair, and red-lit gauntlets. It fits the rest of the team’s treatment without shrinking her fists into a generic costume accessory. A shared team composition is also appropriate here: part of the skin’s meaning comes from belonging to that set.
Riot’s T1 Vi PBE post confirms custom models and textures, visual and sound effects, and a custom recall. The announced PBE price was 1,350 RP in August 2025. The post records no post-PBE changes.
T1 ranks below the first three because the commemorative theme adds more value for some players than others. If the championship means little to you, compare the armor and effects on their own. A Worlds connection is a good reason to love a skin, but it is not a substitute for liking how it looks in a match.
5. PsyOps Vi: tactical clothing, oversized hardware

PsyOps is the alternative to PROJECT for someone who likes the technology but not the full suit of armor. Its official art pairs a cropped tactical top and utility clothing with huge mechanical gauntlets. Pale hair and colored energy around the fists provide contrast without turning the whole costume bright.
Riot’s August 2020 PBE announcement lists new models and textures, visual effects, sound effects, and a recall animation. The package was announced at 1,350 RP. It is therefore worth comparing the actual effects with PROJECT rather than dismissing PsyOps as a clothing recolor.
The ranking preference is for PROJECT’s more unified armored look. PsyOps leaves a larger visual gap between the relatively ordinary clothing and extraordinary equipment. That can be exactly what you want: Vi still looks like a person carrying dangerous hardware, rather than someone enclosed by it.
Pick PsyOps if you prefer the tactical outfit. If you already own PROJECT and want a dramatically different theme, Heartache or Primal Ambush makes a clearer change than another technology-focused design.
6. Heartache Vi: the playful pick, distinct from Heartbreaker

Heartache is the biggest tonal change in this selection. Vi leans against lockers in a white top and oversized gauntlets while Caitlyn stands across the hallway. The contrast between ordinary school clothing and enormous mechanical fists is the joke, and it gives the skin a personality that another armored design would not.
It is easy to confuse Heartache Vi with Heartbreaker Vi in a long skin list. They are separate releases. In the 2023 development thread, Riot specifically explained that the two executions differed, including their visual effects, and that the team wanted to pair Vi with Caitlyn.
That pairing is the reason to choose Heartache over a more serious skin, particularly if you like matching themes with a Caitlyn player. It is not the choice for someone who wants Vi to look threatening in every detail. A school-hallway fantasy deliberately gives up some of that severity.
Riot’s Patch 13.3 notes scheduled Heartache Vi for February 9, 2023. This ranking does not infer a current store window or exact RP offer from that old announcement.
7. Arcane Undercity Vi: keep the red-jacket version

Arcane Undercity is the pick when the red jacket and pink hair are the version of Vi you want to bring into a match. The outfit is more immediately recognizable as clothing than the plated designs above, and the blue gauntlets keep her League silhouette intact.
The current roster calls it Arcane Undercity Vi. Older launch material calls it Arcane Vi. Riot’s skin-specific 2021 PBE thread lists a new model and textures, visual effects, and a recall animation. It does not list the custom voiceover and broader animation package documented for Arcane Brawler.
That makes the decision straightforward. Choose Undercity for this appearance, especially if you already own it. Choose Brawler when the additional presentation changes are the reason for considering another Arcane skin. Owning the older one does not make the newer one a necessary upgrade.
The 2021 post described Arcane Vi as a reward skin and its 975 RP listing as PBE-only at that stage. That historical test-server amount should not be mistaken for a verified price or free-unlock opportunity today.
The current roster has 13 skins, not 13 recommendations
Riot’s September 5, 2026 roster contains 13 named Vi skins besides the default appearance. The six outside this shortlist are Neon Strike, Officer, Debonair, Demon, Warring Kingdoms, and Heartbreaker Vi. They remain separate options; this page recommends seven rather than turning every roster entry into a must-buy.
Chromas are not additional placements in this ranking. A different color of PsyOps or T1 does not become another skin simply because the asset data gives it a separate entry. Arcane Undercity and Arcane Brawler do count separately because they are distinct skins, as do Heartache and Heartbreaker.
What to check before spending RP
Watch a current in-game preview that includes the actions you repeat most on Vi: charging Q, ordinary attacks into E, the third-hit W effect, and the full R sequence. Compare the sounds as well as the visuals. An impressive recall occupies much less of a match than the attacks you use on every jungle camp.
For Arcane Brawler, include the voice lines and ordinary movement in that preview. Those are part of the documented reason to choose it. For the other skins, decide whether you like the actual effects rather than assuming the splash art tells you how an ability looks.
The RP figures above are dated Riot announcement references. Check the current client for availability, any sale, and the actual offer before buying. If you prefer PROJECT’s armor to Brawler’s character treatment, or Undercity’s red jacket to both, choose that preference over the ranking. You will see the costume every game; a higher position on a list is not an extra cosmetic feature.
